Oak Leaf Recap 2015

Saturday October 10 may very well just have been another day for most people. However, for us here at Camp Manitoqua & Retreat Center, it will be a day we remember for a long time. Our annual Oak Leaf Fest brought over 700 adults (yes, you heard that number right – that number does not include the children two years old and under who do not pay the admittance fee) to our grounds. The Lord gave us an amazing day weather wise which allowed our day to run without a hitch. It was such a joy to be able to reconnect with our extended Manitoqua family and to hear what’s been happening in their lives since summer.

If you were unable to make it out to Oak Leaf Fest this year, people were able to come and enjoy a s’more by the camp fire, pick a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch, grab some popcorn or a snow cone, visit carnival games, take a tour of camp through our grounds which our trees were just starting to turn color, or take on the challenge of going on a family scavenger hunt. If people wanted to pay a little extra cash they could go tree climbing in our enormous Burr Oak Tree, ascend the heights on our 40-foot climbing tower, or trot around on a horse.

We are so thankful to all the people who were able to come out and enjoy the day with us. Regardless of what you came to Oak Leaf Fest for, we pray that you and your family were able to enjoy some time away from the hectic pace of everyday life and enjoy some time exploring God’s creation and connecting with friends, family, and our staff!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
